POPCAP GAMES COUPONS

  • Roadkill: Dead Raccoon, Death, Rebirth, End of Suffering
This time around I realized that the raccoon was free from suffering now. It's a shame its life had to end like that- it was blameless; humans built roads in the middle of his ancestor's forest. Progress and technology broke that raccoon's legs and took his life tonight. But now the suffering has ended for it. I mourned the raccoon and the way […]

Jon Stewart DailyShow 2009 Year in Review

So I watched Comedy Central’s Daily Show with Jon Stewart out of curiosity. After after all, Jon Stewart is the satirical voice of Generation X and Generation Y when it comes to politics, right? Since Jon Stewart was unabashed in supporting Obama over McCain in the 2008 Presidential Election, I wondered what what Stewart thought of the current state of the union.

Since President Obama took office, I haven’t watched Stewart because I didn’t think he’d be objective. So who did Jon Stewart vilify in December 2009? Congress, John Lieberman, Tea Parties, and Fox News.

Jon Stewart totally supported the Health Care Bill, and mocked the right wing for associating Obama with socialism. The only funny part of the Daily Show came when one of his fake reporters interviewed African American students about Obama brainwashing them.

In other words, Jon Stewart is still firmly on the left, and is not objective. I guess we all have to make a living and objective, balanced, middle of the road voices are lost due to the extremists. I can see why Jon Stewart is so popular among independent voters and college students, but he just continues to be closed minded when it comes to saying anything good about Republicans.

I got Dragon NaturallySpeaking- now what?

Hello my friends at the DailySkew I just received an early Christmas gift from a relative of mine.  He gave me Dragon naturally speaking.  It is a voice to text program.  This is a very expensive piece of software.  In fact I always fantasized about having a piece of software like this.  I thank my relative and quickly installed the program on my Windows XP machine.

I am very pleased report that installation was very easy, and the training lesson was very intuitive, and I had no issues with the microphone.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking is a very sophisticated program.  In addition to voice recognition program it is built with a set of commands, and you can also set your own commands, and perform computer tasks such as writing and sending e-mails and even surfing the Internet.

One of the reasons why I had fantasized about this was because I blog a lot and write many articles on various websites.  Although I type very fast I always wanted to run time trials to determine if I can be more productive in certain circumstances by speaking into a microphone.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking is very, very expensive.  There’s no way I would ever purchased this on my own.

At this point all the functionality is 100% fantastic. I’m still skeptical if I will ever use the program on a daily basis for my Internet work.

I think there is a lot of potential with this program.  For example, I can use the program for brainstorming, monotonous posts that I have to get out of way, making lists, creating transcripts, and other stuff I probably haven’t thought about yet.

Definitely let me know how you think I could use this program to make things more productive for me.

Keep in mind- dictation is not the same as speaking casually in a crowded room or over the telephone where there’s a lot of noise and you’re laughing and you say a lot of fake words such as uhm and what have you.

I’ll tell you one thing though I wish I won the lottery because I would love to transcribe some great comic books into text complete with not only the dialogue of the superheroes and super villains, but also the editor caption boxes in addition to my own descriptions of the art panels.  However at this stage in my life I don’t see how they’ll be profitable.

I can see how creating reviews by speaking into the microphone could be profitable for Internet marketing- fully compliant with FTC regulations of course.

Well that’s it but this is my first attempt at using Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  In terms of editing this text file I just created the only thing I had to fix was putting some dashes in instead of comments only because I did not take a look at the command list yet showing how to do that. I also didn’t waste time editing caps or commas in certain places because this is just a casual post.

Local Car Auctions for Best Used Cars

Local car auctions

Local car auctions

Do you think local car auctions are scams or do you consider it is achievable to obtain good quality deals with vehicles seized by law enforcement? Undeniably, several of the newspaper advertisements, backpage fliers, or “junk mail” in your mailbox seems too beneficial to be true. Indeed, we can been conditioned to picture the auto industry and dealerships with a cynical eye. However, many individuals have reported success with local car auctions featuring repossessed automobiles from the police, IRS, DEA, or U.S. Custom agents. The major rationale why others believe that local car auctions are scams is because of the low price and people have questions about the auto condition.

Local car auctions present seized vehicles up for bid to citizens. Clearly, these automobiles were involved in some sort of illegal activity or were not being paid for; however, that does not mean that the automobiles are necessarily in bad condition. The worst thing is that automobiles at local car auctions have been inactive in the lot for some time. That is not necessarily a bad thing all the time, but just something to consider. All automobiles sold at local car auctions are sold “as is”, of course. Some places have 30 day warranties that you can purchase on your own or others may be part of specific local car auctions. If you compare the types of automobiles from local car auctions to other bidding events, you can see that the quality of autos from local car auctions is not bad, at all; in fact you will be pleasantly amazed. For instance, salvaged automobiles are not at police seized local car auctions. Salvaged autos, SUV’s, trucks, or motorcycles have been totally flooded and would require you to put in a lot of cash into restoring them into a fine operational condition. This gives police seized lots an advantage to salvaged auto lots.

A significant hint from proficient auto bargain hunters is that you should scrutinize the vehicle in person; this fact gives local car auctions the advantage over websites similar to ebay or craigslist, in which the auto buyer is in the dark. With today’s technology, such as wireless laptops, Wi-Fi netbooks, and 3G (and now 4G) cell phones, you can bring up a vehicle’s history at the same time as you are at local car auctions for an immediate VIN background check. Between physical auto assessment and VIN check run, you can buy with confidence at local car auctions while you need a leap of faith meeting someone from craigslist.

Here is another local car auctions suggestion: do not overbid. Make your maximum bid 20% less than black book value and never pay retail. Remember the goal is to get the best arrangement at local car auctions not to drive the bid cost too high. Always exercise self-control, persistence, and cleverness by waiting for the best vehicle at the right time. If you have the right tools at your disposal, such as a database of opportunities in your area, you can be very successful.

Exclusive KING KONG VS GODZILLA REMAKE Interview

CCB3

CCB3

King Kong vs Godzilla Remake News: The Ministry of Truth (MOT) finally tracked down a graphic designer associated with the King Kong vs Godzilla remake. Due to a no-confidentiality contract, this person cannot be identified, but he is technically an independent contractor for either Toho or Universal, and is currently in the Philippines with new information about the King Kong vs Godzilla remake. As a graphic designer for one of these major movie studious, he has inside information about current projects, upcoming projects, and canceled projects. He was very scared to be interviewed by MOT News, so he spoke to us on the condition of anonymity (he wants to be called CCB3) and insisted on saying he works for Toho OR Universal.

MOT: Keeping within our agreement of anonymity, tell us who you are and how you would have any inside information about a King Kong vs Godzilla remake?

CCB3: I have worked on numerous projects overseas for Toho or Universal. I am an independent contractor; I am not employed by Toho or Universal nor am I officially a King Kong vs Godzilla remake worker. I get paid via a subsidiary. I am a simple Pinoy worker trying to support my family in the Philippines before I came across this King Kong vs Godzilla remake unofficial project. Part of the agreement was to sign a no-confidentiality agreement, so I can’t get on TV and talk about a King Kong vs Godzilla remake.

MOT: Does that mean there is a King Kong vs Godzilla remake in the works? CCB3: In a word, yes- Toho or Universal has commissioned the office where I work at to design preliminary CGI graphics for a King Kong vs Godzilla remake.

MOT: Please describe your role in this King Kong vs Godzilla remake and how the process went.

CCB3: Well, Toho or Universal contacted the company where I work (we get subcontracted a bunch of stuff that n one knows about), and asked for a 5 minute battle between Godzilla and King Kong using the same 3-D motion capture CGI graphics as [the movie] Beowulf. Due to the fact that this request came straight from the company and big money was offered, we knew this had to do with the King Kong vs Godzilla remake.

MOT: What did you do for this King Kong vs Godzilla remake clip? CCB3: I’m on the King Kong vs Godzilla remake graphic rendering and shadow team; we worked 6 days a week on this for one-and-a-half months. Looking back now, it was a fun experience to be part of the King Kong vs Godzilla remake, but it was very stressful because of the battle scene they requested. MOT: Why was this King Kong vs Godzilla remake scene stressful?

CCB3: Well the first major issue is that it took weeks for our artists to render the two monsters without true frames of references, so we were forced to have a lot of “wide angles” and “blur motion” scenes in this battle. We also had issues because since this will be like Beowulf, we had no people to motion capture so we kinda had to use less detail for the human bystanders in the scene.

PART TWO of this King Kong vs Godzilla remake interview soon.

How to Find Local Car Auctions- the Hunt is OVER

Picture

Local car auctions- we see the newspaper ads, we get the fliers in our mailboxes- are local car auctions scams or not? The Ministry of Truth sat down with IT professional and blogger Barry Allen to discuss the pros and cons of local car auctions and how to find out where they are in your area.

Ministry of Truth (MOT): Hey Barry, how are you today?

Barry Allen (BA): Long time no Tweet.

MOT: lol

BA: Actually I’m still pissed that the Minnesota Twins lost to the New York Yankees- talk about David losing to Goliath, in this case George Steinbrenner’s money.

MOT: Okaaay…we’re here to talk about local car auctions. Have you have been to any and have any success with them?

BA: Actually, I’ve had more than “any success” with finding great bargain vehicles at local car auctions. My current 2007 Mercedes-Benz is from one, and my soon to be ex-wife’s 2006 Toyota Sienna was bought from one, too.

MOT: Wow, so- let me get this straight- you bought these excellent autos by winning a bid?

BA: Oh, yeah. Actually, it’s quite simple. I have a full database of all the local car auctions in Minnesota, so I know months in advance before they happen. They usually occur at City Hall or a police station lot- these are all seized vehicles from various law enforcement agencies.

MOT: Wow, so there were repossessed by the police?

BA: Oh yeah, police, DEA, IRS, U.S. Customs- they will seize autos, SUVs, motorcycles, and trucks from deadbeats and criminals and then sell them to the general public at local car auctions. At that point these agencies need to move these vehicles quickly so prices are very low at local car auctions. Heck, I saw guys drive off the lot with a $600 SUV at these local car auctions.

MOT: lol..

BA: It’s no joke. What is a joke is people still going to new auto dealers and getting screwed with making $400 monthly payments on some new automobile instead of just paying $1000 in cash for the same vehicle at local car auctions and driving off the lot with no credit checks.

MOT: What about the condition of the vehicles at local car auctions. I mean, are these vehicles salvaged and flooded or what?

BA: Nope. I have never seen any flooded vehicles. Obviously some vehicles are in better condition than others, but you can inspect everything in person at local car auctions. I also like to bring my Blackberry and quickly look up the VIN number to get a history check. Some local car auctions offer 30-day warranties, but most of local car auctions have a buy “as is” rule, which is fine. You are paying way below retail and black book value so it’s not a problem.

MOT: You eluded to a database of some sort?

BA: Oh, yeah. I would have never gotten involved with local car auctions with my handy online database.

MOT: Thanks for the info.

BA: That’s fine…okay, gotta run- there’s a great deal for me to track down.

The Real Truth About Super Bowl Betting Lines

nfl football

Super Bowl betting lines- we hear all about them every week from TV, radio, Internet, and bookies- but what do we really know about Super Bowl betting lines, point spreads, or how they are determined in Las Vegas and from the online sportsbooks? Are they all a scam where the house always wins or are is there some truth when it comes to underdogs, favorites, and NFL point spreads? The Ministry of Truth sat down with Rob Shreck, a top sports gambler from Vegas and picked his brain about NFL picks, sports gambling, and Super Bowl betting lines in general.

Ministry of Truth News (MOT): Hi Rob, how are you doing today?

Rob Shreck:  Heh heh! Well, this week proved to be one of those “so-so” weeks because everyone felt certain players would have do great by Sunday’s end.  Donovan McNabb and Matt Hasselbeck would be at the top of the points list, right?  Boy, was I wrong. Ha ha ha! But you win some and you lose some. I did adjust the Super Bowl betting lines after this Sunday, though.

MOT: How are Super Bowl betting lines related to all of this?

RS:  I hate making NFL picks sometimes.   Just when you think you have it all figured out, a no-brainer pick lets the air out of your tires.  Ask all the guys who lost in Week 3 & 4 because Drew Brees failed to throw a TD, and you’ll know why I changed my Super Bowl betting lines.

MOT: Well, I can’t say I have any idea what you are talking about, sir! How does what happens one week effect the Super Bowl betting lines?

RS:  Look the bottom line is that Super Bowl betting lines change DAILY depending on all sorts of new information such as injuries, what happened last week, and roster moves. Heck, I’ve seen Super Bowl betting lines change by the MINUTE. {Chuckle} Back in 1977 Super Bowl betting lines changed by the SECOND.

MOT: Okay can we discuss the current Super Bowl betting lines? Which two teams are the favorites to even be in the Super Bowl betting lines? What are the updated Super Bowl betting lines after last Sunday.

RS: Okay, kid, lissen up- you can take the following information to the bank: the 2010- hold on, one sec, I got a phone call. “Hello? Who? Yeah, this is Rob Shreck. Speak to my attorney. No, no, no…speak to my attorney, Foggy Nelson. Yeah..I can’t…I can’t…Foggy Nelson..yep…okay..thaaaanks..bye”

MOT:..

RS: Okay, I gotta go now. [Gets up and leaves.]

MOT: Well, Rob Shrek may not have given us the information we wanted about Super Bowl betting lines. Perhaps John Morrison can help clear up any questions we have about Super Bowl betting lines and NFL picks. Click here for John Morrison. This is the Ministry of Truth signing off for now, see you next Sunday.

Download Billboard Top100 MP3

My quick thoughts on pop music songs that are hot right now:

Download Party In the U.S.A. by Miley Cyrus: Very catchy song. The lyrics are G-rated, and also very SIMPLE. There’s not a whole lot of innovation here, but it is a great pop song and it’s no surprise that it’s a hit.

Download Obsessed by Mariah Carey: Excellent beat and great lyrics. Mariah is still a hot artist. This is going to be a great dance club song (and strip club song).

Download Paparazzi by Lady GaGa: Lady Gaga’s vocals are great in this song, and this a great tune.

Download She Wolf by Shakira: A guilty pleasure of mine. Such a simple song, it’s not even funny. Heck, Shakira’s voice even cracks in this song, but it’s okay, right? I love the howling and the song sounds like a video game. Lyrics are harmless enough.

Download Waking Up In Vegas by Katy Perry: It took me a few listens to finally get the appeal to this song- it’s a good song showing how irresponsible young ladies are, so I like it.

Download Use Somebody by Kings of Leon: I’ll be honest with you- I have never heard of these guys before, and don’t know if they are a boy band or what, but this song is AWESOME. The beginning of it sounds like an older song I can’t place right now. For some reason it reminds me of watching the NY Mets on WWOR in 1986 at the end of a half inning. The lyrics are kinda lame- they just keep repeating, but the guitar is great.

Download Down by Jay Sean: Uhmmmmm….not my thang, sorry.

Download Run this Town by Jay Z: Hey, it’s Jay Z and Rihanna and Kanye West teaming up for a commercial hip hop song. Pass.
